The I.V.STAR® range contains filter in various sizes and with different filter membranes:
I.V.STAR®
The filters of the I.V.STAR® series contain a 0.2 µm hydrophilic polyether sulfone (PES) filter membrane for the retention of particles and microorganism as well as elimination of air. The I.V.STAR® filters with this membrane are available with a filter surface area of 1.6 cm², 4.5 cm² and 10 cm². The housing colour is transparent white.
I.V.STAR®PLUS
The filters of the I.V.STAR®PLUS series contain a 0.2 µm hydrophilic polyether sulfone (PES) filter membrane like the I.V.STAR filters, additionally charged positively for the retention of endotoxins. The I.V.STAR®PLUS filters with this membrane are available with a filter surface of 1.6 cm² and 10 cm². The housing colour is transparent green.
I.V.STAR® F
The filters of the I.V.STAR® F series contain a 1.2 µm hydrophilic polyether sulfone (PES) filter membrane for filtration of lipid solutions and lipid-containing medications. The I.V.STAR® F filters with this membrane are available with a filter surface of 1.6 cm², 4.5 cm² and 10 cm². The housing colour is transparent blue.
Additionally, all CODAN I.V.STAR® models contain a 0.02 µm hydrophobic polytetrafluorethylene (PTFE) membrane for ventilation of the filter. All CODAN I.V.STAR® filters are integrable in customer-specific infusion set configurations and can be operated with all common infusion pumps.
